Executive Leadership

William C. "Kip" Schumacher, MD, FACEP

William C. "Kip" Schumacher, MD, FACEP
Dr. Kip Schumacher is the board-certified Emergency Medicine physician who has used his knowledge of the delivery of Emergency Medicine to develop SCP Health (formerly known as Schumacher Group/Schumacher Clinical Partners). Seventeen years in the trenches of a large hospital emergency department led to the creation of our organization. He knew that with the right team and the right philosophy, we could help shape Emergency Medicine throughout the country. Dr. Schumacher is renowned for his personal commitment to excellence. His focus on high-quality patient care drives our company to respond to our clients and providers with innovative, meaningful solutions, all for the purpose of making healthcare better for every single patient.
Dr. Schumacher is also a national leader in policy arenas, helping shape the future of healthcare. He has published several articles on the leadership challenges facing the healthcare industry, has participated on nonprofit boards dedicated to healthcare reform and has been honored as a “Hero of Emergency Medicine” by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).

Rich D'Amaro

Rich D'Amaro
Rich D’Amaro, a seasoned veteran of the healthcare industry, is responsible for the day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives of SCP Health. Previously, he presided as Founder and Partner Emeritus of Subsidium Healthcare, LLC, an Atlanta-based healthcare consulting firm that he began in 2001. D’Amaro served in various capacities for 22 years with industry powerhouse KPMG LLP, including roles as a member of the firm’s Management Committee, National Managing Partner for the healthcare practice and Chairman of the International Practice.
After leaving KPMG, D’Amaro served as Chairman of two successful healthcare technology companies. In 2005, he merged Subsidium into Tatum, LLC, and became Chairman and CEO. He led Tatum for five years and exited after a successful sale to SFN group in 2010. His commitment to healthcare has included board leadership roles in the Alzheimer’s Association, Health Care Georgia Foundation, Vanderbilt University Technology Corporation, and St. Joseph’s Mercy Care. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of the Fulcrum Equity Partners, a private equity firm based in Atlanta, and Enduracare Acute Services, LLC.

Rob Reilly

Rob Reilly
Rob Reilly, an accomplished operating executive, brings more than 27 years of experience to his role as Chief Operating Officer of SCP Health. As the former Vice President, Services at GE Healthcare, he led a $2.6 billion business responsible for over one-third of GE Healthcare’s global operating profit.
Reilly has deep expertise in operations, sales and marketing, strategy, and finance. He has a proven ability to build, develop, and execute business strategy and lead large organizations at scale.
Over the course of his career with GE, Reilly worked in multiple businesses across North America, Europe, and Asia. For the last 17 years, he held a diverse set of leadership responsibilities at GE Healthcare, helping navigate the business through the rapidly transforming healthcare industry. He led the charge transitioning from a transactional product to solutions focused, leading commercial strategy, driving operational performance and client satisfaction, and helping shape health policy.
Reilly is a graduate of the University of Michigan Ross School of Business with a degree in Business Administration. He has been active in the Health Management Academy and as a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently serves as the Board Chairman for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Metro Milwaukee.

Rena Cottam

Rena Cottam
Rena Cottam brings more than 25 years of experience in accounting, corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, and tax, including 17 years in business leadership and healthcare. In her role as Chief Financial Officer, she is responsible for directing SCP Health’s overall financial strategy, including accounting, corporate and operational finance, risk management, insurance, investor relations, and managed care.
Cottam joined the company in 2001 and has held various positions including Corporate Controller, VP of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer. Previously, she served for four years as SCP’s Chief Accounting Officer playing a lead role in corporate development, including a capital restructure and the integration of two large acquisitions. Additionally, Cottam sits on the board of SCP’s captive insurance companies and led the company’s accounting adoption of Sarbanes-Oxley.

Keith Cantrell

Keith Cantrell
Keith Cantrell joined SCP Health in 2012 and is a seasoned executive leader in the healthcare industry with more than 25 years of revenue cycle experience. In his role as Chief Revenue Officer, he is responsible for revenue operations across all service lines and taking innovative strategies to reality that support SCP’s business objectives. Under Cantrell’s leadership, SCP’s revenue cycle has grown to become a leading practice operation that manages the revenue associated with 8 million annual patient encounters for our 7,500 providers. Cantrell puts a great deal of emphasis on developing people and leveraging technology to drive positive outcomes.
Prior to joining SCP, Cantrell held leadership positions at EmCare, Deloitte Consulting, KPMG, and Arthur Andersen. Cantrell holds a Masters in Health Care Administration from Southwest Texas State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Baylor University.

Sarah Crass, Esq.

Sarah Crass, Esq.
Sarah Crass’ legal career spans over 18 years leading to her current role as General Counsel at SCP Health. She has been Chief Compliance Officer for SCP since 2015 and continues to serve in that role as well. From 2008 to 2015, she served as General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Vice President of Hospital Physician Partners (HPP). Prior to joining HPP, Crass was a shareholder in a law firm where she practiced in both federal and state courts in the areas of complex commercial litigation and civil trial practice as well as assisting companies with general corporate and contractual issues.
Crass is admitted to the state bars of Florida, New York, New Jersey, and Washington. She is a member of the American Bar Association, Association of Corporate Counsel, and the Health Care Compliance Association. Crass received her Juris Doctor degree from the Boston University School of Law in 1998 and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida in 1995.

Lisa Fry

Lisa Fry
Lisa Fry has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare and health management industry. She began her career in the insurance industry and transitioned into management consulting at KPMG LLP in the National Healthcare Strategy Practice. Following KPMG, she held executive management roles for 12 years at Kaiser Permanente. She was also a member of the founding executive team of Avivia Health and led the sales function for the health plan line of business for WebMD Health Services.
At SCP Health, Fry is responsible for our value-based programs and all non-hospital-based service lines, including patient engagement, post-acute care and telehealth. She also leads our innovation initiatives and the development of new service lines to drive diversified growth opportunities for SCP. Throughout her career, Fry’s primary areas of focus have been on driving revenue growth for client organizations and supporting clients in combining financial and clinical data with population-based health information to create superior health outcomes and return on investment. Fry holds a Master of Management in finance and management strategy from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Northwestern University.

Jim Guidry, Jr.

Jim Guidry, Jr.
Jim Guidry’s healthcare leadership and management experience includes over 30 years of success in the operation of patient care delivery systems in primary care, urgent care, and emergency medicine specialties. His background includes extensive national experience working closely with patient care delivery teams, hospital C-suite executives, medical staffs, and business management professionals engaged in or reliant upon the operation of hospital-based and community-based medical practices. He brings a unique combination of creative problem-solving, relationship building, and execution skills that result in a high level of accountability and performance from his teams.
He is experienced in the development and deployment of operational and financial management systems and structures in multi-state and multi-site settings, including the management of operations in academic, for-profit and community not-for-profit hospital environments. Strategic planning, physician recruiting, human resources, financial management, sales and marketing, medical billing, managed care contracting, performance optimization, and billing and accounts receivable management are but a few of the core competencies he provides through his role at SCP Health.
Guidry’s educational background includes completion of his undergraduate degree in Business Administration at the University of Louisiana, with extensive graduate-level studies in Healthcare Administration at The Ohio State University. He is a master-level graduate of Rapport Leadership International.

Stephen Nichols, MD

Stephen Nichols, MD
Dr. Stephen Nichols is a pragmatic realist when it comes to operational improvements. He has over 25 years of experience in Emergency Medicine and has been a staff physician in the Emergency Department in Brownwood, Texas, for over two decades. His work for SCP Health focuses on helping facilities and systems with various operational and service challenges by integrating services in effective and efficient ways, while maintaining the focus on the people we care for — patients and clinicians.
Dr. Nichols applies his down-to-earth style with a methodical approach to management that balances patient care, provider expectations, business goals, and healthcare demands. His fundamental goal is to help hospitals create places where employees enjoy working together and want to bring their families when they need care. He combines the experiences reported at the facility with detailed data analytics to accomplish this goal.

Ross Ott

Ross Ott
Ross Ott is a successful senior human resources executive with over 20 years of human resources experience. In his role as Chief Human Resources Officer with SCP Health, Ott works collaboratively with business executives to develop and implement strategies to attract, on-board, develop, and retain high-performing teams. He oversees the strategy and practices of human capital, including talent management, learning and development, total rewards, HR Systems, and team member relations. He also works with SCP Health senior executives to explore opportunities to develop and shape new business strategies.
Prior to joining SCP Health, Ott held human resources leadership positions at Change Healthcare, McKesson Corporation, and AT&T. Ott holds a Master of Business Administration from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Louisiana Tech University.

Randy Pilgrim, MD, FACEP

Randy Pilgrim, MD, FACEP
Dr. Randy Pilgrim provides executive oversight and direction for SCP Health’s medical and clinical operations across all service lines. He is responsible for empowering and creating sustainable systems that provide clinical excellence, minimize risk, and deliver key results for patients.
Dr. Pilgrim completed medical school and residency at the University of Minnesota. He has been in Emergency Medicine practice and leadership roles for over 20 years. He is regularly involved with health policy issues at state and national levels, and continues to advise the evolving role of Emergency Medicine in healthcare delivery systems of the future. A former actuary with Northwestern National Life, his analytical and business experiences combine with clinical and operational knowledge to balance patient care demands, physicians’ needs, and key business considerations.
During four terms as Board Chairman of EDPMA (Emergency Department Practice Management Association), he represented members that impact over half of the 136 million annual ED visits in the United States, working to influence legislative and regulatory measures that affect the sustainable delivery of quality emergency care. Dr. Pilgrim serves on the Board of Directors for Louisiana’s ACEP Chapter, the ACEP Council, and ACEP’s Federal Government Affairs and Medical/Legal Committees. Dr. Pilgrim was appointed to represent the IOM’s dissemination workshop series, Hospital-Based Emergency Care: At the Breaking Point. He has been an active board member of the EMAF (Emergency Medicine Action Fund) and has been appointed to the Advisory Council for ACEP's Board of Directors.
As faculty for ACEP’s Scientific Assembly and ED Director Academy, Dr. Pilgrim speaks on a variety of topics related to Emergency Medicine and healthcare reform, and he was recently honored as a Speaker of the Year.

Victoria Romero

Victoria Romero
Victoria Romero brings more than 18 years of experience in healthcare IT, mergers and acquisitions, finance, strategy and leadership. In her role as Chief Information Officer, she is responsible for directing SCP Health’s overall technology strategy, including mobile, web, and enterprise application development, infrastructure, and security. Romero brings both a professional interest and personal passion for delivering high-value interactive solutions to healthcare providers, patients, and clients.
Romero joined the company in 2006 and has held progressively responsible positions in management and senior leadership culminating in her most recent role of SVP of Information Technology where she played a lead role in IT product development and managing the technology component for the integration of two large corporate acquisitions.
Prior to joining SCP Health, Romero was a Web Application Programmer with Acadian Ambulance and a Financial Programmer with global company Stuller Settings.
Additionally, Romero is a Guest Lecturer at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a recipient of Acadiana’s “20 Under 40” Leadership Award. Romero has a Bachelor of Science in Business Systems Analysis and Technology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Todd Roscoe

Todd Roscoe
Todd Roscoe is a proven healthcare executive with more than 25 years of experience in managed care contract negotiations and related activities. He is skilled in large contract negotiations and developing and implementing related strategic and tactical plans on a local, regional, and national scale. As Chief Managed Care Officer, Roscoe is responsible for SCP Health’s managed care operations, including contract negotiations, business development, medical economics, strategic planning, budgeting, and staffing.
Prior to joining SCP Health in 2018, Roscoe has held leadership roles for prominent healthcare companies such as Tenet Healthcare, Amedisys, and CIGNA. Roscoe has led high performing managed care teams within a wide variety of provider and payor organizations, including hospitals, physician organizations (PHOs, IPAs, multi-specialty practices), home health, hospice, medical travel, and hospital-based emergency and hospital medicine. His in-depth knowledge of industry trends, physician-centered strategies, and payor relationships has allowed Roscoe to thrive in the dynamic and robust managed care market.
Roscoe has an MBA and earned degrees in Finance and Quantitative Analysis.

David Schillinger, MD, FACEP

David Schillinger, MD, FACEP
Dr. David Schillinger brings over 30 years of experience to his role at SCP Health. He is a graduate of Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Shands Jacksonville Medical Center. Dr. Schillinger co-founded Hospital Physician Partners, formerly known as EDCare, in April 2002. Prior to that, he served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ECS Holdings since the inception of ECS and its predecessor entity in 1988. Dr. Schillinger is licensed to practice in over 25 states and works clinically at many of our client hospitals.

Lee White

Lee White
Lee White, a seasoned senior executive, brings more than 30 years of management experience to his role as Chief Administrative Officer of SCP Health. His leadership expertise includes senior level roles with IBM and KPMG, and during the last three decades, building six successful consulting businesses - three as business units within larger firms, and three as stand-alone entrepreneurial ventures.
White was previously a partner with Subsidium Healthcare, LLC of Atlanta, a healthcare consulting firm, where he served as a senior executive advisor to C-level executives on strategic planning, growth strategies, transformation initiatives, and innovation.
White has served on the Executive Advisory Board of the Business Services sector for Gryphon Investors (San Francisco) and as Chairman of the Board of DLC, a leading project-oriented financial consulting firm based in Southern California, and Gryphon portfolio company. As head of US Operations for PRGX, he was a key member of the turnaround management team for this publicly traded transaction assurance firm. White co-founded AnswerThink (now the Hackett Group) and was a National Partner in Charge at KPMG, simultaneously running two strategic practices. He is currently Chairman emeritus of the Board of Governors of the Alzheimer’s Association – Georgia Chapter and serves on the Board of Directors for United Way of Acadiana.

Beverly Gladney, MD

Beverly Gladney, MD
Dr. Beverly Gladney, a native of Louisiana, brings 25 years of Emergency Medicine experience, depth of knowledge in healthcare delivery, and extensive administrative experience in clinical settings to her role with SCP Health. With managerial responsibility over SCP’s Emergency Medicine practices, she maintains oversight and overall accountability for the quality and efficiency of care provided with and through our Emergency Medicine clinicians. She is a board-certified Emergency Medicine physician executive with an established track record of patient-focused client service, operational efficiency, and clinical excellence.
A lifetime educator, mentor, and coach, Dr. Gladney earned her Master’s Degree in Education and Administration before going back to school to earn her MD from LSUHSC. She completed her Emergency Medicine Residency at LSUHSC – Baton Rouge. She is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Physicians. She formerly served as Chief of Service of Emergency Medicine at Baton Rouge General Hospital. Also active in academics, she was Chair of GME and Clerkship Director for Emergency Medicine at Tulane’s Baton Rouge campus and held other clinical academic positions, teaching many of the Emergency Medicine physicians throughout the state of Louisiana. Many of her former Emergency Medicine residents are now Medical Directors for SCP Health, throughout the country.

Stacy Goldsholl, MD

Stacy Goldsholl, MD
Dr. Stacy Goldsholl comes to SCP Health with vast experience conducting hospital medicine program start-ups. Her recent career focus has been the optimization of the employed physician enterprise with special attention to viability assessment, physician governance implementation, operational restructuring, and turnaround.
Dr. Goldsholl also demonstrated the business/quality case for 24/7 in-house hospital medicine programs, which she later scaled nationally at TeamHealth in her role as President of the Hospital Medicine division.
Dr. Goldsholl was a founding and two-term board member for the Society of Hospital Medicine. She completed medical school and an Internal Medicine residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and returned to complete her Master of Business Administration degree at the Kenan-Flagler School of Business.

Mike Frye, MD

Mike Frye, MD
Michael K. Frye, MD, FACEP, received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Emergency Medicine at Michigan State University’s Department of Emergency Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Frye completed his undergraduate work at Indiana University where he was an active member of Phi Beta Kappa, graduating cum laude.
Along with his many years of clinical leadership, Dr. Frye has an impressive background in executive management in physician-owned Emergency and Hospital Medicine operations. He served as Chief Financial Officer of a private group providing management, staffing and consulting services to the Carolina Healthcare System, one of the nation’s largest non-profit hospital systems, before assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer and, later, President. In these roles, Dr. Frye led the executive team responsible for the successful negotiation and transition into a larger physician group.
Dr. Frye assumed a leadership role within this new group as a Financial Director responsible for optimized revenue and cost savings strategies for sites in North Carolina. He also served as a faculty member for the group’s efficiency academy, developing course content, and providing clinical instruction to physicians throughout the year. Currently, Dr. Frye serves as a mentor, educator, and liaison for the medical directors and physician partners with SCP Health.

Ken Heinrich, MD

Ken Heinrich, MD
Kenneth Jay Heinrich, MD, received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois, and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency program at the University of Illinois. A board-certified Emergency Medicine Physician, Dr. Heinrich is licensed in Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Virginia.
Dr. Heinrich utilizes sophisticated simulation-software to model how functional changes will have on-the-ground implications in emergency departments and clinics. He has lectured at national conferences and individual hospitals around the country on many topics, including process improvement, patient satisfaction, and implementing change.
In 2005, Dr. Heinrich published an article in the American Journal of Emergency Medicine on “Chronic Digoxin Toxicity and Significantly Elevated BNP Levels in Presence of Mild Heart Failure.” He also conducted a Case Series of ACE- Inhibitor Induced Angioedema.
Dr. Heinrich is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and a member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and Illinois College of Emergency Physicians. He has also served in a Medical Director role at MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois.

Noah Hoskins, MD

Noah Hoskins, MD
Dr. Noah Hoskins is a Senior Vice President and Group Medical Officer for the Hospital Medicine Division at SCP Health. Her primary responsibilities include maintaining clinical excellence in hospital and intensive medicine services through clinician professional development, patient-centered care, and outcomes-driven management.
A native Floridian, Dr. Hoskins received her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and completed her residency training at Medstar Health Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Always focused on physician development, she then served as Internal Medicine Clinical Faculty and Director of the Women’s Health Clinic. She now serves as a leader in hospital medicine and has created a proven track record of improving patient experience scores, establishing best practices for physician engagement, and innovating solutions for the healthcare challenges of today, all while connecting to healthcare of the future.
Her current focus is implementing processes for medical directors designed to generate clinician engagement, raise the standard of clinical care in their communities, and lead efficient caring teams.

Jude Malican, MD, MMM, FACEP

Jude Malican, MD, MMM, FACEP
Dr. Jude Malican brings an array of experience to his role with SCP Health. He is responsible for supporting and leading SCP’s efforts to remain a leader in the provision of management practices within Emergency Medicine & Hospital Medicine. In this role, he ensures consistent patient care and management practices in Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine that ensure high quality and dependable performance.
He formerly served as the Associate Regional Medical Director for Emergency Services for the Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston. While there, Malican had primary responsibilities for both the development and implementation of the EMR platforms for all the emergency departments in the system, as well as serving as the medical director for one of the busiest emergency departments in the system.
Malican has held academic appointments at UT Southwestern, Emory University, University of Connecticut, University of Tennessee, and currently has a faculty position with the Baylor College of Medicine. He has also held a wide variety of leadership positions. He has been the medical director of large trauma centers as well as the medical director at a variety of community hospitals. From being involved in multiple contract start-ups to the successful implementation of several hospital emergency department redesign projects, Dr. Malican has had experience in every facet of Emergency Medicine.

Rob Mickelsen, MD

Rob Mickelsen, MD
Dr. Robert Mickelsen received his medical degree from The University of New Mexico School of Medicine and completed his Internal Medicine residency training at The University of New Mexico Hospital. Dr. Mickelsen has been with SCP for seven years and currently serves as Senior Vice President and Group Medical Officer for Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Mickelsen assisted in building and managing the internal medicine residency program in conjunction with Mountain Vista Medical Center and Midwestern University, which is AOA/ACGME approved and currently provides ten positions per year. He is also currently involved in the Internal Medicine programs at Lewis Gale Montgomery and Salem, as well as collaboratively building a Family Medicine program at both facilities. Dr. Mickelsen is also working with HCA ACGME to initiate an Internal Medicine program at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, CO with a tentative start date of July 2020.
In addition, Dr. Mickelsen has also initiated NP and PA programs at Lovelace Health Systems in Albuquerque, NM and Gerald Champion Regional Medical Center in Alamogordo, NM. His current focus is in policy/procedure improvement and provider documentation education.

Dan Newhaller, DO

Dan Newhaller, DO
Daniel Newhaller, DO, a native of Florida, received his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine. He also completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Florida Shands Jacksonville in 1991.
Dr. Newhaller was the founder and owner of Aldan Emergency Physicians, a group of Emergency Medicine physicians providing emergency services to two hospitals in Florida. After nine years of successful operation, he sold this business but maintained his role as Medical Director at one of these facilities. He has enjoyed leadership and administrative positions in a number of hospitals and physician organizations since that time. Additionally, Dr. Newhaller has served in several teaching roles throughout his career.
Dr. Newhaller brings dedication and strong leadership skills to his role with SCP Health. He is responsible for supporting and leading efforts to maintain SCP as a leader in the provision of management practices within Emergency Medicine & Hospital Medicine.

Phil Parker, MD

Phil Parker, MD
Phil Parker, a native of Illinois, received his Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from David Lipscomb University and completed medical school at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine.
Prior to joining SCP in August 2015, Parker served as President at Southeastern Emergency Care. While there, he provided consulting services for staffing, recruitment, and improvement of ER physicians. He has experience working in a large healthcare system as a corporate Emergency Medicine Director and overall more than 12 years in leadership above the medical director level. He is also involved in teaching computer science and engineering students in robotics programming and artificial intelligence.
Dr. Parker brings more than 20 years of experience in Emergency and Hospital Medicine expertise to his role as a Senior Vice President and Group Medical Officer, as well as a chairman of the EM/HM Committee within SCP.

Michael Peebles, MD

Michael Peebles, MD
Dr. Michael Peebles received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at Louisiana State University Charity Hospital in New Orleans, LA, receiving Chief Resident and the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association Clinical Excellence Award.
Leading into his role as Senior Vice President and Group Medical Officer, Dr. Peebles served as the Regional Medical Officer for Lafayette General Health System and Emergency Medicine Medical Director for Lafayette General Medical Center (LGMC) in Lafayette, LA.
While serving as Regional Medical Officer, Dr. Peebles created a Physician Leadership Council, to include 10 hospitals, with 18 Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine Medical Directors and 5 Lead Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants for the health system, to make transitions of care seamless for both patients and clinicians.
Under his Medical Director leadership, the LGMC Emergency Department grew from 24 beds to 47 beds, adding at least 1,300 more patients a month, and achieved certification as a Level II Trauma Center. Jude Reed, MD

Jude Reed, MD, FACEP received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1999. His residency program was served at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX. He is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Reed’s career in leadership in medicine started as a Medical Director in the St. Louis area and has included roles as Medical Director, System Chair, Chief of Staff, Regional Medical Director, and currently, Senior VP and Group Medical officer for SCP. In addition to practicing clinical Emergency Medicine, he has over 10 years of experience as a Physician Executive managing large groups of providers. He is responsible for both the operational and financial performance of over 60 practices in Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Intensive Care Medicine, and Urgent Care Centers through the Midwest and South-Central US.
In addition to the above he is involved with maintaining and developing C-suite relationships, strategic staffing model implementation, patient satisfaction strategies, patient flow and throughput, leadership development, and the integration of Emergency Medicine and Hospital Medicine programs.

Joseph Rose, MD

Joseph Rose, MD
Joseph Rose, MD, received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas, and completed his residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Dr. Rose will be completing his Master of Business Administration from the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas, in August 2021.
In addition to his role as Senior Vice President and Group Medical Officer, Dr. Rose holds the position of Assistant Medical Director at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and is an instrumental member of SCP Health’s Physician Engagement Committee and Clinical Leadership Committee.
Dr. Rose formerly served as the Medical Director for Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he introduced protocols to standardize care, diminish variability, and improve efficiencies. He served as a physician champion for a sepsis initiative and developed a meds-to-beds program, preventing medication interruptions after patients are discharged and preventing rehospitalization. His ability to turn challenges into opportunities earned him the SCP Health Excellence in Leadership Award in 2018.
